Happy Birthday !!! Started in late 2022 as an internal test project on Google Sites for the CTE Media Arts pathway MAC Capstone class to learn basics about journalism. The Squawk was modeled after established websites such as CNN and academic websites operated by students at local high schools like Olentangy Orange. The Squawk was soon upgraded and went authentic with it's own domain name and public internet presence on Wix (major web hosting company) during the first month of 2023. Suddenly a small class experiment grew into a solid media organization for Horizon Science Academy Columbus High School. STEM in action! Since then, The Squawk has further expanded and now, in combination with On The Horizon the weekly variety video show also produced by MAC, serves two building and over 600 students. Future plans include merging The Squawk into a new professional quality media writing and journalism class for next school year. Very exciting.
