Through working with and nominating Sam, he has been selected as a TOP TEN FINALIST for the Jersey Mike's Naismith High School Basketball Courage Award! This scholarship award is something that is awarded to a male and female basketball player, based on any situation where they've had to show perseverance. "As we know, Sam is blessed to not only be living but also thriving as a basketball player. When I came across this award opportunity, I knew I had to work with Sam and his coaches to craft the best possible recommendation letter, which worked!" Mr. Brown says.
"I'd also like to extend a HUGE shoutout to both of his life-saving coaches (Coach Tate and Coach B. Palmer) for being there in that tense moment and continually being that support for him! Throughout the process, Jersey Mike's has sent Sam free sub coupons and swag bags, and we're hopeful that he's able to win that scholarship money not only for himself but there would even be a cash prize that comes to us as a school!"
